About the Position
The Senior Salesforce Certinia Administrator is responsible for the configuration, administration, and optimization of Certinia (previously known as FinancialForce) applications within the Salesforce ecosystem, focused on PSA, Accounting, and Revenue Management. The role is configuration-first (Flows and standard features), with smart escalation to development only when needed for performance, scale, or vendor gaps. You’ll partner with Finance, IT, Customer Success, and Business Operations to keep systems secure, reliable, and aligned with company objectives.
Position Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information System, or related field.
- Salesforce Platform Administrator II and/or Platform App Builder a plus.
- Certinia PSA and related Certinia certifications required
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in substitution for the minimum qualifications.
Experience
- 8+ years Salesforce experience, including 4+ years hands-on Certinia (FinancialForce) with deep PSA expertise ideally including Resourcing, Assignments, Task Management, Time Entry and Budgeting.
- Proven delivery using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Triggers, Batch/Async, Visualforce; strong Salesforce Flows.
- Experience integrating Certinia/Salesforce with adjacent systems (APIs, middleware/iPaaS); SOQL/SOSL proficiency.
- Demonstrated strength in Salesforce Flows, security model, data stewardship, and environment/release execution.
- Experience coordinating integrations and collaborating with developers/partners; comfort with SOQL for verification and troubleshooting.
- Ideally has experience launching a Customer Community for PSA

- Configure, customize, and maintain Certinia PSA, Revenue Management, and ERP (FinancialForce ERP) to meet evolving business needs.
- Set up and manage users, roles, profiles, permission sets/PSGs, hierarchies, sharing rules, SSO; ensure least-privilege access and data integrity.
- Design, test, and implement Salesforce Flows (record-triggered, scheduled, sub flows, invocables), approvals, and business rules to streamline operations.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports for leadership and end users; provide insights into business performance and operational metrics; support BI handoffs (Snowflake/Tableau/Power BI).
- Triage feature requests and incidents; troubleshoot Certinia and integrated Salesforce systems; communicate status and resolutions clearly.
- Maintain dev/test/prod orgs; manage sandbox refresh cadence and test data; coordinate UAT, release windows, cutover/rollback, and release notes (DevOps Center/Change Sets).
- Validate field mappings and connected apps (e.g., HubSpot, Certinia modules, Snowflake, Tableau); monitor jobs/logs; partner with developers/iPaaS teams when changes are required.
- Partner with Business Operational leaders to create SOPs/runbooks/user guides; support or deliver targeted training and change communications to drive adoption.
- Work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Customer Success, and other admins; act as a BS&A Certinia subject matter expert.
- Recommend configuration/Flows by default; document criteria to involve development (e.g., performance limits, complex orchestration, or confirmed vendor gaps).
- Ability to evaluate business requirements and provide for:
- Overall recommendation on whether any such requirements “should” be managed with Certinia or not.
- If “yes”, what is the proper way to design and build the requirement taking advantage first of out of the box objects & features and second if customization is required, how to best leverage native workflow tools like Salesforce Flows, and third, if necessary, how to customize with Apex.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong systems thinking; crisp stakeholder communication; bias to document and automate.
- Expert Salesforce Flow patterns; advanced Apex/LWC engineering; strong grasp of limits, performance, and security.
- Confident configuring objects/fields/page layouts/record types across Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud.
- Deep command of profiles, permission sets/PSGs, roles, sharing rules, FLS, and SSO; enforces least-privilege and finance SoD.
- Validations, dedupe, imports/exports; builds stakeholder-ready reports/dashboards and supports BI handoffs.
- Planning sandbox strategy and refresh cadence; promotes configuration via DevOps Center/Change Sets; coordinates UAT, cutover/rollback, and release notes.
- Validating mappings and connected apps; monitors jobs/logs with clear escalation; partners effectively with developers/iPaaS teams.
- Triage incidents/requests to SLA; authors SOPs/runbooks/user guides; delivers targeted training; communicates trade-offs clearly.
- Practical integration skills (APIs, middleware), structured troubleshooting, and test-first mindset.
- Key Certinia PSA & Rev Mgmt. & ERP Skills:
- Set up and maintain resource scheduling, timecards, project templates, milestone triggers, and forecasting modules tailored for global and multi-entity business requirements.
- Automate revenue recognition processes, apply recognition templates to source records, and manage multi-currency and multi-region accounting policy alignment.
- Create, optimize, and manage dashboards, reports, and analytics for finance, PMO, and leadership stakeholders; ensure data quality and compliance with internal audits and global governance policies
- Proficiency with Certinia ERP/Accounting modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Financial Reporting, and integration of financial data

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of
- Certinia modules PSA, Accounting, Revenue Management, including projects/resources, time & expense, approvals, billing, revenue recognition, and Services Estimating.
- Salesforce platform architecture and security model (objects/relationships, profiles, permission sets/PSGs, roles, sharing, FLS), Flow types, and environment/release paths.
- Integration touchpoints and data flows between Salesforce/Certinia and adjacent systems (e.g., HubSpot, Snowflake, Tableau), including Connected Apps and SSO basics.
- Data governance practices: validations, duplicate prevention, reconciliations, auditing, and segregation of duties (SoD) for finance processes; reporting/dashboards concepts.

- Designing robust Salesforce Flows and approvals (subflows, invocables, error handling/logging) and documenting reusable patterns.
- Administering users/permissions and implementing secure sharing models; managing SSO and connected app policies.

Working Conditions
